Dynamic Target Tracking Camera System

Fast object tracking camera demonstration, capturing and focusing at 1/1000th of a second - very impressive - video embedded below:

This camera system can track very fast moving objects, keeping them in the center of the screen at all times. Currently under development by the Ishikawa Oku Lab. at the University of Tokyo, this latest version captures Full HD video and can be used outdoors.

“Ordinarily, to change the direction a camera faces, you move the camera mechanically. But in this system, it’s not the camera that moves, it’s the mirrors. This makes it possible to change where you’re looking really quickly. In this demonstration, we’re tracking a table tennis ball. The ball moves extremely fast, but this system can keep compensating for the ball’s motion, so the ball stays in the middle of the image.”

I wouldn’t be surprised to see some kind of music video made with this to arrive soon …

Remember kiddies, just because its on the net, doesn’t make it free. If you think that you can do what you’re doing without consequences, than are you in for a treat!

1. You are breaking the sites rules and terms of agreement (You can be suspended or permanently banned.

2. It’s actually illegal, you you heard right!, ILLEGAL to post art without the artist agreement, and if you’re selling it, my god have mercy on you soul.

3. This kind of behaviour will haunt you for the rest of your life.

Nobody wants to hire a known thief. NOBODY. Art industry or retail or otherwise, that record gonna look even worse when you say ‘Oh it was only for a RPG and everyone was just overreacting’ I can guarantee it’s not. Nobody is gonna care, the only thing they’ll care about, is the theft is in bold print on that record and that they way you handled it was less than desirable.

Just because you can’t physical hold (At least until it’s printed) do not mean it’s not property. Theft is theft. End. Of. Story.

Once upon a time, on my personal blog, I reblogged and added a short rant to a post about tattoo theft. This was not some horrifying case where somebody cut a tattoo off someone’s body, but they did find the image online, take it to their own (considerably lower quality) tattoo parlor and have it redone without the creator’s or the owner’s permission. This is basically the same as art theft online, only worse, because that work is permanent. It can’t be deleted or taken down from a site.

Shortly after posting my rant, I received an angry message, either from the person who stole the work or from one of their friends. They told me that I was being ignorant and stupid and said, and I quote: ‘Don’t you realize that once art is uploaded to the internet, it no longer belongs to you?’

CHEESE AND RICE, SOMEBODY ACTUALLY SAID THAT TO ME.

According to this logic:

Once you bring a piece of traditional art outside of your house or into a public area, it is no longer yours.

Once you write a story and post it on your blog it is no longer yours.

Once you publish a book and other people purchase and read it the text is no longer yours. It belongs to them because they saw it.

If you say or do anything, that word or action instantly becomes the intellectual property of anybody who feels they are entitled to it for some reason.

This is such incorrect thinking on so many levels. I spent hours on my art. It is mine. I took a photograph. It is mine. I wrote a story. It is mine. You are not entitled to keep it or use it for your own gain simply because I uploaded it to the world wide web -the only place you can put anything where it can be seen these days.

With this attitude you suggest that artists should either be happy to have their basic rights of ownership trampled, or give up on their future success entirely, since the only option you give them to prevent their art being stolen is to not present it to society at all.

So everybody, please reblog messages like this about art theft as often as you can. We are people. We deserve to be able to share our work without the risk of it being stolen or posted elsewhere without our knowledge or permission. We have the right to have everybody know who exactly did that awesome picture, whenever they see it anywhere on the internet. We have the right to be respected.)

This kind of thinking. This kind of thinking right here. People serving to benefit from the status quo. Intellectual property is a dangerous perversion of the idea of ownership. Ownership of an “idea”. How do you even do that?!? Even copyright is a draconian system which in it’s current far overreaching form, serves the greedy and exploitative most of all by extending well beyond the mortality of the original creator. Why would you spend your time fighting to protect a broken system instead of reconciling it with the reality of the mediascape of today? One which you have benefited from.

As somewhat of a content creator myself. While I wouldn’t appreciate someone re-uploading my work verbatim. The link economy is abstract enough that a few people would sill find me from it and I’d get recognition. I also publish much of my content under creative commons. And when I do I’d honestly much rather simply release into the public domain. I think creative commons is a great middle ground for protecting yourself if you’re really dead set on that mode of thinking.

However as it stands, if this person had their way. No art, invention, writing, film or otherwise would ever get made because everything incorporates other ideas and no art or writing exists in a vacuum. Our legal system simply fails to take this into consideration because of loss aversion. Only now with the advent of the internet are we seeing the true nature of creativity work and play out as it’s exploding faster than the antiquated legal system can keep up with. Imagine OP’s word came from that of the RIAAA or MPAAA.

Further I like how OP took a STOLEN FRAME FROM A CREATOR’S WORK IN THE MOVIE “CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY” to make their point. Whether it is in copyright or not. Whether it should even be in copyright or not. They are a hypocrite. Why protect a broken system instead of reconciling it with the reality of the mediascape of today. A mediascape which you have just benefited from. YOU LOSE, GOOD DAY SIR.

I want everyone to think long and hard on this information.

This means that you are not buying your games. You are paying 60+ dollars to rent the games from Microsoft, and they can take their game back whenever they feel like it.

You will not own your game. You will not own your console. Essentially, Microsoft is saying “We can disable your games and cut you off from accessing your console whenever we choose to.” Because a ban that locks your XBox Live account means that you will be locked out from all non-game functionality of the system, and by revoking your ‘licenses’ on all your games associated with your account, they can then disable each and every game you own for the system. Leaving you with a five hundred dollar cable receiver. Or, in the case of most users of the console, a five hundred dollar paperweight.

All because you accidentally walked into some online glitch and the rest of the players rage-report you for cheating.

This is unacceptable. Buy any console but an XBox One. Do not support Microsoft’s sudden belief that they own everything despite our purchase of it, and we have to prove we’re worthy of being shared with by paying exorbitant fees and jumping through constant hoops and hoping someone doesn’t report us for cheating because we made them mad in an online game.

Tell Microsoft ‘No,’ and do not give them your hard-earned money for what amounts to a video game subscription service with a $500 starting fee and $60+ dollar purchases.

There are way too many people that get banned unfairly. This is bullshit. I let my nephew play on my live account once when he was little, and I got a lot of people reporting me just because he was playing like a five year old. So. Cool.

A video game console should be something you can play anywhere you can get a screen to view it on and a power supply. Period.

Internet requirements should only be necessary for online multiplayer games, never for ANYTHING else.

Well that was quite the non-answer.

So there you have it. I was doubting what thatpointlessidiot was saying, but now after doing some serious research I can say for a fact that this is real.

And let’s just leave it at that. I’m just going to play the Live games I have to date, hope to GOD I don’t get randomly banned, and wait a year for my gold account to roll over and die by the end of this year.

Not that I was planning on doing that from the start. There’s really no use sticking around with xbox if I’m gonna have to log in every single goddamn day just so I can play a game.

I have nothing else really to say on the matter, except that Xbox One is not going to be found in or anywhere near my household.
